Modern Boho Farmhouse Wedding in Boulder, Colorado
Roxy + Ross got married this past July at Boulder’s hidden gem, Milston Well Farm in a beautifully non-traditional ceremony and reception. These two lovers and avid runners chose to forego a wedding party. That meant double the time for their portraits, so we didn’t mind one bit. We got to explore the lovely farm and capture images of them in literally every corner of the property.
Another unique aspect of the day was the ceremony. R + R’s guests were bused in from the surrounding areas, and instead of normally being “hidden,” they were the first people their guests saw and greeted when they stepped off the bus. This non-traditional touch made this time feel surprisingly familial and intimate as well. Roxy and Ross mingled with all their family and friends while sipping on welcome cocktails until it was time for everyone to be seated. When the ceremony began, the only people in the processional were Roxy and Ross. They walked up the aisle holding hands - this really tugged at my heartstrings!
We have shot at the farm a few times now, and no one until Roxy and Ross had ever made use of the gorgeous empty silo on the property. These two created a magical lounge area inside, complete with hip wicker chairs, rugs and candles (all thanks to Hunt and Gather’s wonderfully boho decor). It made for such a beautiful, intimate space. One of our other favorite spots on the farm is their lovely tree alley. Instead of the normal reception tables, Milston offers a gorgeous tree-lined space to set up a communal farmhouse table that seems to go on forever. When that sun set and those twinkle lights kicked on, it was pure magic.
All in all - an absolutely beautiful day at this gorgeous boho farmhouse wedding. Cheers to you, Roxy and Ross!
